Nisansala Sadamali from a poor farming family in the Kuralewela village, near Mahiyangana has set up a vegetable garden with support of Sanmarga under the Women’s Empowerment and Livelihoods Programme. The revenue from the produce has increased the family income significantly and is empowering Nisansala as a member of the women’s cooperative society which was formed under the programme.
Sivakuma Yugandani who is a single mother living with her daughter at Navakkadu, Chavakachchri earns a meagre living with ad hoc labour work. She has faced severe hardship due to the prevailing cost of living crisis. Sanmarga has supported her with dry food rations under their Humanitarian Support Programme.
Sanmarga Trust is a family-run trust.
We aim to keep things simple and reduce costs so that all donations are directed to support and improve the lives of beneficiary families.
